The Valley Spirit: Water Series collection reflects the essence of jeweler Wendy Lor herself
If you have it, flaunt it – especially if it is a two-carat diamond ring or necklace, or any bauble with a five-figure price tag.
While this is quite the common approach among jewel-loving ladies (and men), Wendy Lor thinks otherwise.
“Jewellery is not meant to be flaunted; its purpose is to enhance the character of its wearer,” she said.
Under any circumstances, such a noble pronouncement might ring shallow, but then Lor’s utterance is not without substance.
The managing director of WendyLorArtisans (WLA) and a silversmith by training, Lor is a jewellery artisan with more than 16 years of industry experience. WLA is the brand name under Calistine Sdn Bhd, a jewellery manufacturer and retailing company established in 2004.
“Every time I am commissioned to create a piece of jewellery, I create something unique and suited to the character of the client,” said Lor.
Such has been the inspiration of Lor’s aspiration in creating jewellery, particularly since WLA’s early years when it catered exclusively to a select database of Lor’s high profile clients.
Her passion for jewellery making has not diminished over the years, and its mirrored in her latest creation yet – the Valley Spirit: Water Series collection.
The collection reflects the essence of Lor herself – her beliefs, philosophies and self-discovery – personified in a cache of 30 exquisite jewellery pieces, without compromising Lor’s inherent objective of echoing the complexity of the woman who wears it.
“This is probably one of my best creations after 17 years in the industry,” quipped Lor during the media preview of the collection and launch of the new WLA showroom at Sunway Mas Commercial Ce
